Analysis of the Internationalization of Education under the New Concept of Development

The internationalization of education within China’s new development concept involves a complex journey that combines tradition, innovation, and global involvement. This paper explores the connotation and direction of China’s education, shedding light on its development path driven by sustainability, fairness, and creativity. Education internationalization serves as a tool to enhance soft power and global influence by promoting student exchanges, academic partnerships, and cultural interactions. In recent years, there has been a shift in focus and effort in China’s endeavors resulting in a significant increase in the enrollment of foreign students. However, the COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted travel and study plans, highlighting the changing nature of this field. Guided by the principles of the new development concept, the approach to international education aligns with human-centered development values. It aims to develop individuals who can navigate an interconnected world while promoting cross-cultural collaboration beyond borders. Incorporating both domestic and international content into curricula enhances sensitivity while expanding students’ global perspectives. At the same time, ensuring access to educational resources and strengthening international partnerships contribute to comprehensive educational experiences for all. Also, overcoming challenges such as disparities and biases in educational content further emphasizes the need for a comprehensive strategy. Hence, China’s endeavor towards internationalizing education creates a fabric of interconnections and shared progress. Guided by the new development concept, the pursuit of education internationalization signifies a dedication to shaping a future that is more inclusive, interconnected, and sustainable on a global scale.

Exploring the Direct Effect of Foreign Language Enjoyment on Expectancy-value Motivation and Indirect Effect on English Competence

This study is to examine correlations between foreign language enjoyment (FLE), expectancy-value enjoyment, and English competence of Chinese university students. A questionnaire was used to collect information from 74 Chinese non-English major college students about their FLE, expectancy-value motivation, and their English competence. According to the findings, the mean FLE of Chinese university students is 5.491, showing moderate to high levels of FLE, and the teacher factor is the highest scoring dimension (the mean is 5.982). The teacher appreciation and social environment (the mean is 5.428) are more prominent than the personal enjoyment factor (the mean is 5.065). Besides, in the expectancy-value motivation dimension, achievement value and utility value are most prominent. As far as the relationship between FLE and expectancy-value motivation of Chinese university students is concerned, the results show a significant positive relationship between the two (except for cost value), thus indicating that FLE increases with motivation. Specifically, FLE has the most significant positive relationship with intrinsic value and expectancy beliefs. The Amos path analysis concludes that in the FLE dimension, personal enjoyment factors can indirectly affect students' English competence in addition to directly positively correlating with expectancy-value motivation, which highlights the important influence of personal factors on foreign language learning.

Environment Risks and Their Responses to Chinese Companies Investing in Countries along the “Belt and Road”: Solutions Based on the International Investment Law

In recent years, China’s investment in countries along the “Belt and Road” has gradually expanded. Minerals, energy, manufacturing, infrastructure, engineering construction, etc. are key industries for Chinese companies to invest in countries along the road. Legal deficiencies in the host country’s environment, behavioral defects of overseas investment companies, and the lack of regulatory norms and weak supervision of environment risks in China increase the potential environmental liability risk of Chinese companies. On the purpose of reducing the occurrence of environment risks, this paper takes the international investment law as the entry point, adopts the literature review method and data induction method, and combines a large number of environment risk treatment cases of Chinese companies in the project investment, and proposes five solutions: include environmental protection clauses when signing international treaties with host countries; Strengthen companies’ environmental responsibilities and environmental disclosure obligations; Special legislation for overseas investment by companies; Fully use the role of overseas investment insurance and establishing a diversified mechanism for resolving international environmental disputes.

An Analysis of the Dilemma, Reasons, and Path of Social Recognition of Vocational Education in China

Despite the introduction of a new law on vocational education and the improvement of the vocational education system, there are still problems, such as low social acceptance of vocational education and social stereotypes of vocational education, which not only affect the implementation of vocational education policies but also the enrolment of vocational education and the employment of vocational education graduates. This paper analyses the causes of the phenomenon from the school, social, parent, and student levels. It puts forward the following suggestions to improve the phenomenon and enhance the public’s acceptance of vocational education: firstly, focus on the implementation of the policy in all aspects; secondly, improve the talent cultivation system; and thirdly, provide diversified employment opportunities to enhance the stereotypes. Through Dewey’s theory of vocational education and Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, we start with students’ most basic psychological needs and then take measures to improve the social recognition of vocational education.

The Study of the Practical Effects of Background Music in TikTok Short Videos

This paper analyses and explores the Real Effects of background music on the user experience by studying the effect of background music in short videos on TikTok, analyses the relationship between BGM and video fit from the audience’s point of view, and puts forward more effective suggestions for the use of TikTok’s background music strategies and methods. Most articles only focus on the favourable aspects of the background music or only carry out the traditional sound and picture analysis without considering the Real Effects of the background music from the audience’s point of view. This study is based on the intuitive feelings of the users of the TikTok platform (including a small number of creators or creators using it) through the design of questionnaires. The respondents discuss the four main factors of using background music in their favourite fields: usage frequency, usage mode, usage effect and usage feeling, to improve further the previous research on the effect presentation of the background music of TikTok short videos, to form a more complete analytical framework, and to provide a richer perspective of analysis. There are also some flaws in this study. For example, the small sample size of the questionnaire, the concentrated age range, and the fact that the data do not fully cover all situations may affect the final conclusions of this paper. Therefore, the conclusions of this paper and the improvement measures provided in this research only provide a preliminary analytical framework and reference for future research on similar pathways.

Current Situation and Development of Community Nursing in China

Community nursing is a continuous, dynamic and comprehensive nursing service based on the knowledge and skills of public health and nursing. It takes the population as the service object and maintains and promotes health as the ultimate goal. With China gradually entering the aging society in recent years, community nursing has become an essential direction of nursing development and an inevitable trend of health care development. Despite the strong support of relevant government departments, China’s community nursing is developing continuously. However, because of the late start of development, large population base and other reasons, there are still many problems, such as insufficient supply of nursing services, a significant shortage of nursing facilities, and uneven quality of nursing. This paper mainly discusses the above community health care problems caused by China’s aging population and puts forward some suggestions, for example, the government should appropriately increase investment, strengthen publicity, pay attention to the training of nursing talents, recruit more nursing staff and provide them with corresponding training and assessment, improve the quality of nursing staff, promote the more comprehensive application of community nursing concepts and models, and provide theoretical reference for exploring the establishment of a sound and sustainable community nursing service system in China.

Reform Direction and Development Prospects of Cross-Border Civil and Commercial Litigation in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area: Under “the Belt and Road” Initiative

Since the inception of “the Belt and Road” Initiative in 2013, China’s foreign economic and trade engagements have experienced ongoing growth and expansion. In response to the broader cross-border market, the establishment of a multifaceted dispute resolution framework encompassing litigation, mediation, and arbitration has emerged as a crucial undertaking. This framework is designed to address the growing complexity of international cooperation disputes. Among them, litigation is the most credible and the last guarantee of fairness and justice. China’s cross-border civil and commercial litigation (Hereinafter referred to as the CBCC litigation) has developed rapidly under “the Belt and Road” Initiative. However, there are still a series of problems in case filing, service, application of law, proof of foreign laws, and execution of overseas judgments. Due to the national policy of “one country, two systems”, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (Hereinafter referred to as the Greater Bay Area) has gained unique regional advantages and strategic value in the CBCC litigation reform and practice. This research summarises the development status of the Greater Bay Area since “the Belt and Road” Initiative. It identifies three development directions for the modernisation reform of the litigation in the region: high efficiency, legalisation, and internationalisation. In these three directions, the Greater Bay Area has made certain achievements. These achievements prove that China’s CBCC litigation is actively entering the international track, deepening the determination of international cooperation and exposing the shortcomings of the current cross-border judicial practice. China still has considerable space to progress ahead in enhancing the effectiveness of cross-border dispute resolution, integrating reform initiatives into legal statutes, and advancing international judicial collaboration.

An Analysis of the Alcohol Interventions Around the World

Nowadays, global alcohol consumption is expanding rapidly, causing health impacts on global citizens and posing a significant threat to the development of society and countries. Although countries have had relevant policies on alcohol use, it is difficult to achieve the purpose of restriction due to the lack of a unified global convention. This paper emphasizes the focus and direction of alcohol interventions by comparing the different effects of alcohol consumption on different groups of people and puts forward the advantages and disadvantages of the alcohol consumption tax policy, which is now considered the most effective measure in the world, as well as the cognitive blind area that tobacco tax can also intervene in alcohol consumption (synergistic effect of tobacco and alcohol). This paper aims to improve alcohol intervention policies further and make the measures more targeted and implementable according to the corresponding impacts on different groups and the existing defects. Countries are supposed to work together to develop international conventions for alcohol consumption to increase control effectiveness.

The ocean is a vast and complex ecosystem covering 70% of the Earth’s surface, providing various resources and energy for humanity. However, with the development of human society, the function of the ocean has gradually shifted from a “harvesting ground” to a “dumping ground.” With large-scale damage to the marine environment, events like the 2011 Japanese nuclear leak and the recent decision by the Japanese Prime Minister to discharge nuclear wastewater into the Pacific Ocean have intensified the discourse on marine environmental protection. Different countries have shown varying stances and attitudes towards these events. This paper explores how individuals should bear national responsibility in nuclear pollution incidents, including the discharge of nuclear wastewater, from the perspective of international marine environmental protection law. The introduction section introduces the research background, methodology, and objectives. The second part discusses the legal analysis of Japan’s disposal of nuclear waste into the ocean. The third part presents the improvement of international legislation on marine environmental protection. The fourth part emphasizes the significant impact and global ramifications of nuclear wastewater discharge, urging clarity on the Japanese government’s responsibility to safeguard coastal nations and accelerate the safe treatment of nuclear wastewater.

Tort Liability for Trans-boundary Marine Environmental Pollution: Japan’s Radioactive Wastewater Discharge into the Sea as an Entry Point

Currently, the problem of trans-boundary marine environmental pollution is becoming increasingly prominent and Japan’s insistence on discharging nuclear wastewater despite protests from other countries has raised concerns among the population. Researchers have found that international conventions and other sources of international environmental law are lack of a liability system for trans-boundary environmental pollution. Therefore, this paper looks for gaps by applying the normative analysis method to retrieve the relevant liability system at the institutional level in order to compare and analyze it, and secondly, using the case analysis method to think about how to improve the liability system through case law practical perspective. The study concludes that it can be constructed from two perspectives, namely the responsibility of the State and the tort responsibility of private subject to adopt the system of tortious responsibility and both serve in parallel with that caused by environmental pollution compensate for damage. Due to the irreversibility of environmental pollution, initiating legal proceedings for redress after the event is often not the ultimate goal. Therefore, the ex-ante blocking mechanism need to be further improved and domestic law needs to be constantly improved to compensate for the shortcomings of international law. That help our country deal with the marine environmental pollution to provide methods and ideas.

Policy Suggestions Based on the New Model of Combining Medical and Elderly Care Services in Rural Areas

In recent years, population ageing has been deepening, and promoting the combination of medical care and old-age care services is an important measure to optimize the supply of health and old-age care services for the elderly. Although the policy of combining medical and elderly care services in rural areas has been continuously improved and made positive progress, there are still some problems in policy support, service capacity and talent construction. Therefore, the government should carefully plan the rural medical and pension system, formulate medium- and long-term plans, and actively take reform measures to establish a new rural medical and pension model. At the same time, strengthen the law, government supervision and publicity to promote the stable operation of the new model of combining rural medical care and old-age care.

Opportunities and Challenges Brought by Short Videos to Traditional Media

With the popularity of various mobile devices, short videos have attracted much attention as a new form of media due to their relatively low threshold and more flexible reporting style. Traditional media is facing a strong challenge from new media, one of the signs being that long videos are being replaced by short and concise, yet more diverse, short videos. The emergence and popularity of short videos imply that traditional media is facing intensified market competition, which has prompted many traditional media outlets to make changes in content production and distribution methods to adapt to the changing landscape. Therefore, short videos not only bring challenges to traditional media, but also unlimited development opportunities. In terms of content and distribution channels, while new media is impacting traditional media, it also brings new ideas, prompting traditional media to accelerate its transformation by focusing on optimizing content production and expanding distribution channels. On the other hand, the rise of new media has also led traditional media to pay attention to its development, making deep collaboration and integration between the two possible, further providing audiences with high-quality audiovisual experiences. For both viewers and the development of traditional media in the era of media convergence, the emergence of new media undoubtedly serves as a catalyst.
