Educational innovation has become an important issue on a global scale. The evolution of society and technology has provided new ways to improve future teaching achievements. It also allows us to seek different solutions to the problems that were difficult to solve in the past. On the other hand, our conference aims at unveiling and inspecting the philosophical inquiries usually hidden among the lines of logical debate. We hope that inter-disciplinary studies with a social scientific focus can all be traced back to the very source of their philosophical pursuits and eventually contribute to the creation of knowledge.

Adolescence is a golden stage of personal development, but mental health at this time is easily affected by external factors. Parents have a strong influence on adolescents' mental health as direct participants in their development. This study highlights the importance of parental involvement and attention in protecting and improving adolescent mental health during this critical stage of adolescent development. This article comprehensively studies and analyses the impact of parental neglect on adolescents' mental health. Parental neglect can be categorized into aspects such as emotional neglect and maternal neglect. By enumerating, analysing, and discussing scholars' related views on this topic, this paper finds that parental neglect has an impact on both the psychological and cognitive health development of adolescents. The impacts are mainly focused on insecurity, trust issues, and depression. Based on these conclusions, this paper finds that scholars' solutions focus on family companionship, school communication, and active psychological intervention.
The early diagnosis in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is crucial for timely interventions to address the patients’ attentional and social challenges. The currently study aims to use machine learning algorithms to accurately predict ASD outcomes. Dataset from a Kaggle competition was used to perform the prediction analysis. Five supervised machine learning algorithms were employed: Logistic Regression (LR), K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN), Support Vector Machine Classifier (SVC), Random Forest (RF), and Decision Trees (DT). The models were fine-tuned using a range of possible hyperparameters and evaluated using ROC AUC scores. The best-performing model, Random Forest, achieved a training ROC AUC of 0.93. The model's performance in predicting the unseen test set resulted in a ROC AUC score of 0.8623. The outcome demonstrates the potentials of machine learning models in early prediction of ASD symptoms, which provides support for autistic individuals to enhance their quality of life and education.
Social cognition is necessary to comprehend and interpret the behavioural intentions of oneself and others in social contexts. Despite an increasing understanding of social cognition deficits in mental illness, the relationship between Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) and high-order social cognition deficits (i.e., mentalization and metacognition) remains under-investigated. This paper aims to provide a holistic review of the existing empirical evidence on mentalization and metacognition in patients with MDD and suggest areas in need of further research. While a close relationship between MDD and metacognition has been consistently reported, some disagreement was raised regarding the association between mentalization capacity and MDD. Besides, the direction of the association between MDD, mentalization and metacognition was also underlined by studies examining the outcomes of high-order social cognition therapies. Mentalization and metacognition were both found to be predictors or at least moderators, of MDD diagnosis and symptom severity. Future evidence from developmental and neuroimaging studies may provide valuable insights into the field of study by uncovering the varying degrees of the impact caused by social cognition deficits and their associated neural mechanisms.
Critical period hypothesis, a popular topic of great significance in language acquisition, was initially deprived from first language acquisition, and further applied to second language acquisition though disputes remain. Former researchers have done myriads of empirical study and concluded diverse theories. This paper purports to briefly review former researches of critical period hypothesis in both first language acquisition and second language acquisition, and then try to probe its interrelation with age effect and implicit learning.
Since the first virtual Youtuber appeared on YouTube in late 2016, the VTuber industry has become increasingly popular in recent years. While most research focuses on the reasons for VTubers’ popularity and the characteristics of virtual YouTubers, this article reveals the possible labour exploitation and the precarious working conditions faced by VTubers. Through the analysis of the immaterial labour produced by the Nakanohitos behind VTubers, this article argues that Vtubers are more likely to suffer from precarious working conditions. With an in-depth case study, it then illustrates the current social context for cultural workers like VTubers, and how precarity is manifested among them.
This work studies how mating strategies vary between long-term and short-term relationships, and between males and females. Therefore, it leads to the discussion and comparison between monogamy and polygamy. In this work, males’ and females’ biological difference is analyzed to present different priorities in mating strategy. Additionally, the optimal evolutionary mating strategies for men and women are present according to their own circumstances and needs. From a macro point of view, sexual market is objectively existed, which make it crucial for people to know how to improve and make use of their sexual market values, such as choosing an appropriate mating strategy and marriage.
Violent behavior is one of the influencing factors in the development of physical and mental health in individuals and has a great degree of influence on family and social harmony. This research was conducted in order to understand the influence of violent games and violent or criminal film and television on the psychology of adolescents and what they have done. The results were obtained through a literature search, an opinion survey, and a questionnaire. "In the rapidly developing Internet era, works containing violent and crime elements may lead some adolescents who are not well guided to the path of crime, but not attribute to society simply because evil things are bound to happen in society," according to the research findings of this paper. In addition to this, the crime should not be imputed to violent works, leading to a lack of certain education on the subject of violence in adulthood, so that they do not understand how to solve the relevant incidents when they encounter them. This paper suggest that the correct approach should be to first limit the time that minors are exposed to violent works to avoid creating shadows then to be properly guided by parents.
Against the backdrop of rapid economic development and globalization, the trade environment for China’s manufacturing industry to integrate into the global value chain has undergone changes. The trade frictions between China and the United States have escalated from time to time, and how to face the challenges has become a major issue. Based on the background of trade frictions between China and the United States, this article first introduces the current development status of China’s manufacturing industry, and then conducts an in-depth analysis of the changes in international and domestic market demand for China’s manufacturing industry. Secondly, it analyzes the part of the Entity List of the China-United States trade war that affects the Chinese market, and analyzes the impact of Sino-US trade friction on the integration of China’s manufacturing industry and the global value chain. Finally, some suggestions are put forward for the Chinese manufacturing industry to cope with trade frictions between China and the United States, providing strategies for industry protection and the path to achieve the transition of the manufacturing industry in the global value chain.
With the development of society and the increase of talent in recent years, recruitment has become an essential step for enterprises. This article studies the factors that affect employee recruitment, with the aim of improving the future survival and development of enterprises, reducing the huge losses caused by personnel changes, and indirectly improving the efficiency of enterprises. By using literature research methods to understand the factors that affect employee recruitment, the content can be divided into factors, problems, countermeasures, suggestions, and future sections. And through reading a large amount of literature, it can be concluded that the main factors affecting employee recruitment include the degree of job matching, differentiated needs, discrimination, recruiters’ own literacy, and the rationality of human resource planning. The main countermeasures are to effectively implement personnel job matching, differentiate the treatment of applicants, standardize the recruitment process of enterprise employees, scientifically formulate human resource planning, and improve the professional literacy of human resource management personnel. Effective recruitment work improves employee quality and personnel structure, and injects new management ideas into the organization, adds new vitality to the organization, and may even bring significant technological and management innovations to the enterprise.
The article is set against the backdrop of today’s Russo-Ukrainian war and focuses on the multiple ways in which the continuity of the US as a country that commands but does not participate in the war can affect the country. Since the invasion, the US has led the way in providing Ukraine with military equipment and training, economic aid, near-total diplomatic support checks, intelligence used to deter Russian attacks, and threats of dire consequences if Russia uses nuclear weapons in Ukraine. Even before Russian troops crossed the border, the US and many of its allies were working to mobilize a potential diplomatic coalition against Moscow’s predatory and ambitious military by warning Russia of the range of potential sanctions it could incur, and strengthening Ukraine’s military forces. The article, sourced through a Google search and Google Scholar, is based on the American people’s perception of war and its economic and political impact on the United States after the World War Ⅰ.
Since teenagers tend to behave treasonably in their adolescence, researchers are more likely to focus on their problem behaviors, which neglect their pro-social behavior. However, instead of solving and dealing with the problems they currently faced, it is much more significant to promote the development of pro-social behavior positive in their adolescence. This article reviews previous literature and organizes the influence of pro-social behavior on adolescents through parenting in various scales and concludes mediation and moderation. The main arguments of this paper are: 1) divided parenting into parenting style and parenting behavior and defined pro-social behavior; 2) compared different influences on pro-social behavior by scales of parenting behavior and parenting style in different dimensions; 3) discussed the mediation and moderation between parenting and pro-social behavior. This article finds that positive parenting can greatly benefit adolescents’ pro-social behavior, and also inspires researchers to focus more on factors, such as gender differences, single parents, and the system of the whole family, which can influence the development of pro-social behavior by parenting differently.
Nowadays, Chinese society has entered a stage of rapid development, and a large number of knowledge-building talents are needed to help China's future development. As the main force of China's future development, young people must have a rich knowledge background as well as good physical and mental health, so as to firmly guarantee the future of China. However, the fact is that, recently, a large number of graduates are unable to find a job or they take jobs that are low-paying, unstable, or less people-oriented. Over time, young people will be less positive at work, and their enthusiasm for work will be greatly reduced, which is not conducive to China's future development. In this case, this paper studies the employment dilemma of contemporary Chinese youth and the reasons behind it, drawing the conclusion that at present, Chinese youth are faced with a dual employment dilemma of the changing employment situation and changing employment preferences, which is caused by the increase in the number of outstanding graduates, the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic, the turnover wave of Generation Z, and the structural problems of youth employment.
The use of mobile phones is becoming more and more widespread, and the time for students to contact mobile phones for the first time is getting earlier and earlier, so it has become necessary and urgent to pay attention to the psychological problems caused by mobile phones for students. This article analyzes the impact of smartphone apps on students' mental health. This paper argues that overuse or incorrect use can cause students to have psychological problems such as anxiety and depression. This may be due to factors such as lack of communication, family influences, etc. Based on this, this article suggests that society should increase the relevant publicity for the correct use of mobile phones. Schools should pay attention to the different psychological problems of different students and provide targeted counseling. Families should communicate more and guide students to take the initiative to express themselves. Students should learn self-control and at the same time, develop good living habits to avoid psychological problems.
The electronic game industry has developed rapidly in the past decade. From Contra and Super Mario to League of Legends and Glory of Kings, players’ enthusiasm for games has been enduring. Among them, game consoles have brought arcade halls to people’s homes. With the development of the times, iPhones make games’ within reach with the level of realism in image technology has significantly improved. With the popularity of games, a problem has emerged which is game addiction. With the expansion of the base of game players, the problem of game addiction has become a social problem that cannot be ignored. Many studies have examined the risk effects of game addiction, including academic performance, physiological development, social development, and the formation of negative emotions such as package personality, anxiety, depression, and suicidal tendencies. This study has integrated these variables to explore the role of multiple influencing factors in developing game addiction and their potential prevention methods.
This study is to examine correlations between foreign language enjoyment (FLE), expectancy-value enjoyment, and English competence of Chinese university students. A questionnaire was used to collect information from 74 Chinese non-English major college students about their FLE, expectancy-value motivation, and their English competence. According to the findings, the mean FLE of Chinese university students is 5.491, showing moderate to high levels of FLE, and the teacher factor is the highest scoring dimension (the mean is 5.982). The teacher appreciation and social environment (the mean is 5.428) are more prominent than the personal enjoyment factor (the mean is 5.065). Besides, in the expectancy-value motivation dimension, achievement value and utility value are most prominent. As far as the relationship between FLE and expectancy-value motivation of Chinese university students is concerned, the results show a significant positive relationship between the two (except for cost value), thus indicating that FLE increases with motivation. Specifically, FLE has the most significant positive relationship with intrinsic value and expectancy beliefs. The Amos path analysis concludes that in the FLE dimension, personal enjoyment factors can indirectly affect students' English competence in addition to directly positively correlating with expectancy-value motivation, which highlights the important influence of personal factors on foreign language learning.
English writing is a fundamental skill in today’s globalized world. Teaching English writing effectively involves understanding not only the grammatical and structural aspects but also the cognitive and sociocultural factors that influence language use. This paper delves into the application of memetics in the domain of English writing teaching. Memetics, a field that explores the transmission and evolution of ideas and behaviours, offers a unique lens to understand the processes underlying the acquisition and development of writing skills. This study aims to examine the potential benefits of integrating memetics into English writing instruction, exploring its implications for enhancing creativity, engagement, and overall proficiency in English writing.
Many heuristics in behavioural economics play important roles in decision-making. The anchoring effect is one of these heuristics which influence people’s decisions in different fields. Through qualitative analysis and case analysis, this paper aims to introduce the applications of the anchoring effect in various situations. And according to the influence of anchoring effect on decision making in online auctions, court, and Marketing, it analyses how the anchoring effect affects people’s decisions and also how to avoid the deviation caused by anchoring effect. The analysis proves that anchoring affects people’s decision-making in different situations to a certain extent, and makes biased decisions without people realizing it. he analysis also shows that biased decisions can be avoided in different ways. There are different ways in which people can gain more perspectives and information in their lives, while thinking about how to create excellent self-generated anchors to help escape the effects of anchoring.
Speaking anxiety has a wide range of effects on students, notably speaking anxiety in a foreign language, which has a negative impact on students' foreign language learning, but there are fewer investigations on speaking anxiety among Chinese international high school students. This study was completed by the “Foreign Language Speaking Anxiety Scale (FLSAS)”. A survey of students in an international high school in Hubei Province found that students had moderate speaking anxiety, there is no significant correlation be-tween gender and speaking anxiety, not having enough time to reflect before speaking in English and lack of vocabulary are the main causes of speaking anxiety. The article offers recommendations on the causes of speaking anxiety for students, teachers, and school.
In preschool education, teachers will use some scattered and basic teaching approaches to help children broaden their sensory boundaries and collect information to support the teaching in science education. Children’s understanding of scientific concepts needs to be complemented by richer teaching approaches, such as imagination and drama; Or a more complete teaching mode or teaching stage. Teaching moment and teaching forms also affect children’s understanding of scientific concepts, but so far the researches has not been thoroughly discussed. Different teaching moments in the teaching process will produce different effects. Providing scientific concepts or detailed explanations at appropriate moment will facilitate understanding of the concepts. In terms of forms, discourse and body language fuse together to facilitate children’s understanding of scientific concepts.
