Analysis of Narrative Characteristics of the Novel "Life and Death Are Wearing Me Out" Using the Ideological Criticism Method

Ideological criticism in literature refers to the analysis and study of literary works from specific class or party perspectives, aiming to illustrate the ideological nature inherent in all literary creations. Ideological criticism in literature has existed since ancient Greek times and evolved into a systematic critical theory and doctrine in the nineteenth century. By the twentieth century, with the rise of Marxist literary criticism in the Western world, ideological criticism entered a new phase, giving rise to numerous critics and theorists, becoming a significant phenomenon in twentieth-century literary and cultural criticism. Since adopting Western models and concepts of literary criticism in the twentieth century, ideological criticism has been one of the most influential critical schools in domestic literary criticism practices in China. The extensive novel by the author Mo Yan, "Life and Death Are Wearing Me Out," can be thoroughly analyzed through the ideological criticism method, focusing on its content from the perspectives of characters, language, and plot.

Starting from "Equality": An Interpretation of Rancière's Critical Educational Thought

Jacques Rancière's philosophy is rooted in the concept of "equality," crucially interpreting his educational viewpoints within his theoretical framework. Rancière places "equality" as the cornerstone of educational discourse, aiming to subvert the traditional educational heritage centered on "explanation" since ancient Greece and the presumed social construction of hierarchical order. In Rancière's educational theory, the teacher is an equalizer, advocating a curriculum centered on "thing in common" and endorsing a learning model guided by "translation" instead of the traditional "explanation"-dominated pedagogy. His goal is to foster intellectual equality and recognition while creating sustainable spaces for debate. This educational discourse offers a new theoretical foundation for critical pedagogy and multicultural education.

A Fusion of Chinese Five Elements and Steampunk in Enhancing the Gaming Experience

In the present era, due to the increasing influence of globalization, individuals from around the globe have the opportunity to select and engage with a greater variety of cultures. further, the theory of cultural fusion was proposed and further expanded upon during a period when video games were increasingly delving into the concept of cultural fusion. Nevertheless, the number of games that successfully blend Chinese and Western cultures is limited. Furthermore, the incorporation of traditional culture in game design tends to be simplistic in terms of visuals and gameplay. To address this, we have developed a game called Element Gears: Chronicles of Balance. This 2D survival adventure game combines traditional Chinese five-element philosophy with steampunk aesthetics, creating a new benchmark for thematic and cultural integration. Our game Gears integrates cultural elements and futuristic ideas into both the gameplay and narrative, rather than merely focusing on them. This fusion is not only visually pleasing, but also intricately integrated into the game mechanics, encompassing aspects such as resource allocation, manufacturing, and strategic survival problems within a dynamically evolving setting. The incorporation of cultural topics extends beyond surface-level depictions, offering players a more profound and engrossing educational and entertainment encounter. By comparing our Element Gears to similar games in the genre, this article highlights how its innovative approach to cultural fusion increases player engagement and creates a deeper and more meaningful gaming experience.

Impact of Antisocial Personality Disorder on Morality and Ethics

People tend to use both sociopath and psychopath when describing people who have antisocial personality disorder (ASPD). However, a psychopath is not the same as a sociopath. They are not official diagnoses. Instead, they both describe aspects of the same condition: ASPD. A psychopath has emotional deficits and psychopathic describes a chronic condition in which the violent behavior or abnormal behavior a person might suffer from and can lead to criminal behavior or illegal things that are against society’s norms; a sociopath is antisocial and breaks rules and sociopathic is ASPD, which is classified when a person may tend to overlook the right and wrong or sometimes feelings of others or can treat others harshly and have no guilt under mental disorders. Research have constantly associated ASPD with crime, and yet experiments and studies cannot ensure that people with ASPD are most likely to commit crimes absolutely. Thus, to learn ASPD better, understanding the mindsets of people with ASPD is the key. This review dives into the morality and ethics of ASPD through various references. The present study looked at ASPD with novel perspectives. With the combination of research, this paper then compare, contrast and conclude the ideas from the references. In the discussion, the study try to challenge some traditional ideas about ASPD and also conclude the limitations of the present study.
